PGW will be changing its rebate amount come 9/1/14. I know it is difficult to think about boilers right now with the summer heat, but if you are thinking of upgrading your system to a high efficient boiler, then now is the time. Installations after 8/31/14 will see a $500 decrease in rebates from $2000 to $1500. This is actually quite sad that …. The $2000 rebate made switching from a mid efficient boiler to a high efficient boiler a no-brainier since the $2000 covered the additional cost of the high efficient boiler and its installation costs. Now that they are decreasing the amount to $1500…. it might make homeowners stop and think about upgrading to high-efficient and might even deter some for taking the plunge. I personally think it is a mistake to reduce the rebate amount if PGW’s goal is to encourage customers to purchase high-efficient boilers. So, get in while the rebate is a no-brainer
